Richard is a dedicated veteran who left school at the age of 15 to join the British Army, serving for 17 years in the regular and reserve forces culminating in a role with the Defence Intelligence Staff at the Ministry of Defence in Whitehall. Despite his unconventional educational path, Richard pursued further studies, earning electrical engineering degrees and an MBA in 2012, demonstrating his commitment to lifelong learning.

In 2019, Richard founded Global Commissioning, where he has built an exceptional team that has established the company as a market leader providing specialist engineering and commissioning services for data centre projects across the EMEA region. Known for his commitment to mentoring, Richard takes great joy in helping individuals grow and become more educated and experienced fostering their development both personally and professionally.

His focus on excellence extends beyond his professional life—he is a family man with four great children, 2 grandchildren and a supportive wife, Sam. Together, they have been business partners for the last nine years, with Sam playing a vital role in keeping Richard on the right path.

As a member of the Artists Rifles - Mars and Minerva Rifle Club, Richard shows his dedication to ultra long-range marksmanship and the veterans community. With two miniature dachshunds and two Great Danes, there is never a quiet moment in their household. An avid outdoor enthusiast, Richard enjoys long-range shooting and open water swimming although quite like the romantic idea of using the gym one day. His multifaceted experience, commitment to family, and dedication to supporting veterans make him a respected figure in both community and business circles.
